2022 DRAGONBOAT RACES
sponsored by The Grand Foundation

THE MOST FUN YOU'LL EVER HAVE FUNDRAISING.
IN A BOAT.
THAT LOOKS LIKE A DRAGON.

Dragonboats are long canoes - decorated with dragon heads and tails - and hold teams of ten paddlers, a captain and a drummer. Excellent for team building and getting wet on a hot day, the Live Water dragonboat race also helps raise money for Grand County charities.

THREE WAYS TO JOIN THE FUN AND SUPPORT GRAND COUNTY CAUSES

1. Register your local non-profit to enter a team in the race! No experience or equipment is required - the good folks at Phantom Dragons will supply everything, including boat captains. You'll just need to bring a sense of adventure...and wacky costumes! Contact president@rmwbs.org

2. Join a team - choose your favorite cause below and become part of their crew.

3. Donate and help support the team or teams of your choice.

Founded as a place of retreat and renewal in a busy world, Shadowcliff is a mountain sanctuary that holds space for individual and collective transformation. Funds will go towards a new legacy garden and future programs that include equitable experiences in Nature for Middle/High School Youth.

LittleSprouts Learning.png

Little Sprouts provides a safe, developmentally appropriate learning environment for infant through preschool age children. Their mission is to provide high-quality early care and learning experiences, which fosters each child's social/emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

DRACO's primary goal is to promote the sport and culture of dragon boat racing in Colorado by offering inclusionary, family-friendly training where everyone is encouraged to participate, regardless of age, ability, financial resources, political/religious affiliation, sexual orientation, medical condition, etc.

100% of funds raised will go to the Upper Colorado River Watershed Group - a nonpolitical, non-regulatory organization dedicated to promoting the environmental health and resiliency of the Colorado River headwaters through science, education, and outreach.

Grand Cty Wildfire Council.png

The Grand County Wildfire Council is the local agency working to create a more fire adapted Grand County, a community that consists of prepared and informed citizens collaboratively planning and taking action to safely coexist with wild land fire.

RMWBS Dragon Logo_edited.png

RMWBS is raising funds towards the construction of a Mobile Workshop, used for alternative education programs for local youth and a shared resource for local partners, like the Grand Lake Creative District and Rocky Mountain Folk School.

FV Youth Hockey.png

Participating in team sports leads to immediate and long-term benefits for youth, their families, and communities, with  mental, emotional, social and physical health benefits - Fraser Valley Youth Hockey aims to support young minds, bodies and character through hockey!

Grand Huts Association.png

GHA is working to enhance backcountry cabin facilities in the forests of Grand County, open to public use while assisting managing intense use of fragile ecosystems. New and existing huts will eventually link together with a backcountry trail system from Berthoud Pass all the way to Grand Lake, near Rocky Mountain National Park.
